About Special Sessions at the ISIE-SEM 2026 conference

We are seeking proposals for Special Sessions for the ISIE-SEM 2026 conference. These sessions will complement the main research presentation and poster sessions. In your proposal, please explain the aim of the session and why you believe it will benefit the conference participants and/or the wider research field.

You may like to refer to the broad themes we have highlighted for this year’s conference in explaining this, but you are also welcome to give your own explanation for why it is a timely and important session to include.  For example, how will this session help the conference to advance the equity of SEM research (open data, models, access, etc), support agency (how can research move from modelling and analysis, to change in practice and in society? Who should be involved, and how do they make decisions? What analysis do they need to inform this?) and/or respond to the urgency of the problems we face (how can SEM research tell us not only what is feasible or desirable in general, but what should we prioritise to make the short-term changes that are urgently needed?).

Special Sessions are provisionally expected to be 90 minutes long.

The deadline for Special Session proposals is the 1st December.
